3D additive printing in concrete
Additive manufacturing is expanding in various industrial sectors. 3D printing process already replaces, in some cases, traditional manufacturing of products via machining or molding. The question arises of the impact of this technology on the traditional methods of manufacturing concrete products. The presented technological review aims to understand the strengths and weaknesses of this technology, to assess its applicability and challenges in concrete’s field. After a general introduction to the principles of 3D printing, the presented work focuses on the additive manufacture of concrete. From materials to the used machines, a presentation and an analysis of the different processes, projects and relevant applications are proposed.
