Thermal bridges of light weight inside partitions through slab-on-ground floors and suspended floors

This study deals with thermal bridges of light weight Inside partitions through slab-on-ground floors and suspended floors.

When the inside partition goes through the insulating layer of a floating screed, the thermal bridge can be important (up to 0,36 W/(m.K) depending on the type and the characteristics of the floor and the partition). The beamand-block floor systems with polystyrene blocks are the only studied solution not to be impacted.

The inclusion of this type of thermal losses allows to value suspended floors with polystyrene blocks (with or without additional floating screed insulation) relative to slab-onground floors, typically combined with floating screed insulation.

These results can be used for the next revision of the French thermal calculation rules (Th-U) to include thermal losses through inside partitions in the regulatory calculation.
