Modifications to the additional rules applied for precast concrete elements
Modifications to the additional rules applied for precast concrete elements : Chapter 10 (EN 1992-1-1 :2004) and Chapter 13 (CEN/TC 250/SC 2 N 1358)
The current version of Eurocode 2 related to the calculation of concrete structures is currently Under revision. A final version PT1-draft prEN 1992-1-1 2018 D3 (CEN / TC 250 / SC2 N1358) currently circulates between the different mirror commissions. The evolution of this computational code can have repercussions especially in terms of product’s resistance, quantity of reinforcementand / or thickness of the future prefabricated elements, anchors and length of transfer, cover (adhesion and durability) or can even generate more restrictive implementation procedures.
This report deals with the modification of the current section 10 on additional rules for precast concrete elements and structures by focusing on the impact of changing transfer / Anchor length formulas, as well as the concrete tensile strength on the dimensioning of certain products, particularly, the shear strength of hollow slabs.
Keywords: changing transfer/anchor length formula, concrete tensile strength, Eurocode 2, hollow slab, prefabricated element
